We provide a healthy and education driven environment for youth to
complete their assigned community service hours. These community service hours
are design to instill a sense of “giving back” for the youth in the program.
Our goal is to have them understand that serving their community at our Center
is a meaningful way to get to serve others.
Summer Youth Employment & Training Our center is one of the host sites for youth who are hired by the
City of Los Angeles and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Through this program,
the youth gain work experience during the summer school vacation time or when
they are off track at their home school. The youth work with the children in
our Summer Activities Program or with our Homework Assistance Program in the
afternoon. The experience these students receive also involve being
responsible, taking their job seriously although it may be just for a few weeks,
and becoming part of the Center's staff. They participate in staff meetings,
strategic planning, and any team building activities that the Center holds
during their stay.
