National Night Out Building Safer and Stronger Communities

LAPD Hollenbeck’s Patrol Captain - Tina Nieto escorted one hundred youth and their family members to El Sereno Park. All community members in attendance were treated to free hotdogs, drinks, and popcorn.

The event also contained a community resource fair that included LA City Services provided by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Barrio Action Youth & Family Center, The Office of Assemblymember Kevin De Leon, Councilman Jose Huizar, CERT Community Emergency Response Team, CPAB –Community Police Advisory Board, Arroyo Vista Family Health Center, LA Parks and Recreation, The Eastside Bike Club and The Voice Publications

After the brief welcome by Barrio Action’s Executive Director Tammy Membreno, LAPD Hollenbeck Captains Blake Chow and Tina Nieto, and Councilmember Jose Huizar the crowd was treated to an outdoor movie theater.
