1st Annual Lights on Afterschool Celebration 2008

Barrio Action Youth & Family Center celebrated the 1st Annual Lights on Afterschool commemoration at our new indoor gym. Over 125 community members, leaders, educators and youth attended the celebration making this event a successful evening. Carmen Schroeder, Local LAUSD District 5 Superintendent along with local principals including: Ms. Saracho de Palma, Ms. Acosta, Ms. Ballard, Mr. Gomez attended the celebration. Ms. Schroeder emphasized the importance of Afterschool programs offered at Barrio Action and acknowledged Ms. Membreno for her outstanding work in the community for over 17 years.

Ms. Membreno-Executive Director of Barrio Action thanked everyone in attendance including our major sponsor United Teachers of Los Angeles. FUSION Dance Hip-Hop Class performed at the end of the event.
