Community volunteers will support students' academic goals by helping them understand and gain proficiency in their school core subjects. Student to student tutoring will be incorporated to ensure that students remain interested and are encouraged to learn. Services will be provided from 3:30-6 pm.

Barrio Action Youth & Family Center and its Learning to Excel Afterschool Program are unique in that it is the only location within the area with specialized youth activities and other community-based programs available, Monday -- Saturday, to students attending schools that operate on a traditional or year-round school schedule. With such accessibility, students who are out of school at anytime during the school year are more likely to engage in positive learning and self-building activities at our Center.
